Founded in 1938, Tutco has quickly grown into a global leader in the heating component industry. We supply electric resistance heating elements for a broad range of applications, including compressors, clothes dryers, duct heaters, heat pumps, window air conditioners, vending machines, university research laboratories, aerospace, automotive, medical, food, packaging and other OEM industrial processing equipment.

In 1994, Tutco was purchased by Smiths Group, which has brought even greater resources to our products through the group's Specialty Engineering division. We are a manufacturer's manufacturer, custom designing and creating products that are highly reliable and that help our customers get to market faster. METCOM Inc.

METCOM Inc. is a full-service metal forming company specializing in metal spinning, metal stamping, deep drawing and laser cutting.  Our diverse customer base includes  filtration, appliance, lighting, and many more industries.  Metcom's in-house tooling department is capable of building tooling to match your product to our processes and equipment.

Our secondary operations include trimming, beading, extruding, spot and projection welding, riveting, and hole piercing.  Typical materials are mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.  Our certification of ISO 9001 ensures our systems are effective and help reduce the certification process with new customers.

LTA Projects

LTA Projects was started in 2002 by airship and balloon designer Steve Garner. Before starting LTA, Steve designed remote control airships for the United States military, passenger-carrying airships for Disney, and advertising balloons for several Fortune 500 companies. In addition to continuing work on airships, LTA began to develop the inflated tower product. This project was intended to meet an important market of payload lifting needs that small blimps could not satisfy. The goal was to produce a solution that would be user-friendly, effective, safe, and would not require esoteric supplies like helium.

In 2011, LTA stopped making airships to focus on inflated towers and other projects. Originally designed with emergency management in mind, the towers are now used for everything from communications to area lighting for more than 30 industries from police departments to construction companies. LTA is involved in other projects too. For example, we are the sole provider of the balloon component of GATR’s inflatable SATCOM dishes and we developed iLugger, a product for safe and convenient transport of Apple’s iMac and monitors.

G&L Manufacturing

G&L’s proprietary tubing technology has been well known in the tubing industry since 1982. Our founder, Robert Gilreath, laid the foundation for the company’s success by developing a quality culture and the basis for manufacturing precision tube making equipment, produced right here in Cookeville, Tennessee. The result, tubing produced with outstanding quality and consistency to industry-leading tolerances.

Over the following 37 years G&L has grown from the original 3 mills to 25 mills, expanded our cutting capabilities with production cutting equipment with inline deburr & wash systems and acquired another production facility in Denver, CO to better service our customers. In August 2019, G&L became a part of the O’Neal Industries family of companies. In doing so, we brought together two of the nation’s most respected privately-owned metal product suppliers in order to provide an even higher level of service and greater value than before.
