Volunteer Knit Apparel, Inc.

Volunteer Knit Apparel, Inc. was established in September 1986 as a contract knitting operation. In 1989, the company expanded to its present location and became a vertical mill operation. Knitting, bleaching, cutting, sewing, packaging, and shipping of basic knitwear is done at our location in New Tazewell, TN. A dye operation is performed in Knoxville, TN.

L.C. King Manufacturing

Around the turn of the 19th century, Landon Clayton King was raising champion bird dogs in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Seeing a need for tough, durable workwear clothes that could withstand the rigors of tracking quail or a long day on the farm, he founded The L. C. King Manufacturing Company in January 1913. Landon approached producing garments with the same exacting standards he held for training his dogs. Inspired by their ruggedness, character, and style, he named the first line of clothing “Pointer Brand.”

For a hundred years and four generations, the storied factory in downtown Bristol, Tennessee has been in the capable hands of the King family. Today, Jack King strives to uphold his great-grandfather’s commitment to excellence by continuing to make iconic workwear—whether it’s our classic triple-stitched overalls or a global fashion collaboration destined for the runway.

Jiffy Steamer

Since 1940, Jiffy Steamer, based in Union City, Tennessee, has evolved into the world’s oldest and largest steam technology manufacturer, inventing the steamer and the steaming process. World-renowned in more than 55 foreign markets and backed by more than 1,000 global dealers, the dozens of Jiffy models can be found almost everywhere- from the commercial clothing trade to residential markets and various special industries.

Family values represent the core of the Jiffy brand with several family members actively involved with the company's operation. But longevity alone is not the primary driver of Jiffy's success. Jiffy sets itself apart from competitors with its unwavering commitment to customer service. Jiffy is responsive to customer feedback and has made continuous improvements to its line of products since 1940. The company continues to find new, innovative ways to promote better living through steam. 

Footwear Industries of Tennessee, Inc.

Footwear Industries of Tennessee Inc. (FIT) is based in Jefferson City Tennessee and was incorporated in 2013. FIT manufactures a range of footwear for work, safety, hiking, and hunting, using state-of-the-art, direct-injection molding technology. FIT is a division of the Merchant House International Group, which has been manufacturing footwear for over 30 years. The group’s footwear division predominantly specializes in work footwear, but in 2003 diversified to include cowboy and western boots.

The Tennessee location was selected because of the state’s central location and its excellent transport links across the US. Jefferson City, with its skilled workforce, was deemed the perfect “FIT” for the project. Footwear Industries of Tennessee Inc. started with 50 workers and has plans to triple that number.
